It is a trend nowadays for some house animals/pets owners dressing up their favorite animals with accessories, clothing, even shoes... Recently, we saw a lady in a shopping mall with a cute chihuahua dog in a trendy dog basket. Her chihuahua dressed up in a lovely matching clothes and sunglasses just like her owner...in fashion. Of course, my 4 years old daughter instantly want to have a real house animals/ pets too. So she can dress'em just like her. I said, nope....my dear, it will cost a lot of money. I wonder what's on her dog'minds, whether she likes it or she hates it???? Do you dressing up your house animals/ pets, too???

Hi,apakabar2007! I have not bought a suit for my dog but my aunt re-designed a suit for my dog.The dog clothes now is a popular business in China and in big cities you can find pet's clothes shops easily. But not all the pets like wearing suits. Some of them dislike the suits.LoL.My dog only likes it because she knows that if she wears clothes, she can go out for hiking.

I too feel that people like to dress up their pets now. I have parrots at home. I too liked to dress up my sweet green parrot. I have australian parrots too at home. Once, i covered my green parrot with clothes but it did n't like it & tried to get rid of that cloth so, i did n't dress up it next time. I think that there is no need of dressing up animals/pets bcuz God have made them already beautiful. Human beings look unpleasant naked but animals/birds look pleasant bcuz they have beautiful colours of nature on their body.

Berkeley - This is my doggy in one of her favorite shirts.
You know, as much as i hate to admit it, i am guilty of dressing my doggy up in clothing. She is a Chihuahua and it started out because she was so cold durring the winter, but now it is a thing where she LIKES to wear clothes and fancy collars! She is so cute. She even has a Halloween costume...it's a bat costume! Teehee.

me and my little dog have a real buffalo skin robe. we curl up in it at night, and i wear it out to stores and such in the winter, my little dog can hide in the hood. funny some people comment on it, ask if it is real then reach up to feel how soft the fur is and their hand is to close and nipper goes off barking. i think we almost gave an old man a heart attack, couple months ago.

I think your dog now feel that robe as a second skin. From the way it sounds....your dog like it and your dog just wanted to say to that poor old man to "stay away from my dog robe"....hehehe. Thank you for sharing !!!!

is it really fashion? i guess yes, cause you usually dont see dogs/cats wearing a bathing suit on. but for me, i wont put clothes on on my german shepherd just for it to look cute. why are you going to put clothes on an house pet who already has fur or hair to keep itself warm?

I noticed some pets dressed like fashionista too in my city. They really look nice. We do have dogs as well and we tried fitting them with clothes but they just got crazy putting it off their body hehehe… They’re not into it. But we do put some hair clips or neck-tie..

Dog raincoat with hood - This is one of the items that I make.
I personally don't have an inside dog but I love to make clothes for dogs/cats and I know people love to dress up their animals.

We had one dog that our girls (at that time aged 6 and 8) would dress up in their cloths. It was more funny then cute. But the dog was really patient and let them do what ever they wanted to it. If it had long enough hair it would have had all kinds of hair pretties in it. A lot of small dogs need some thing to cover them up in the winter. My grand mother had a small dog that they always put little sweaters on it because other wise it just stood there shivering. And that was in the 1960's. But sometimes I think they go over board. I saw a picture a couple of years ago of some famous person that had her little dog in a matching outfit and the dogs wardrobe for that day costs something like $50,000. Now that is way to much.

Berekely in a shirt - This is my dog, Berkeley, in one of her shirts.
We dress up our 2 dogs. They both love it. They will bring us their clothes and then prance around and show off once they are dressed. It they don't feel like wearing their clothes anymore, they simply take them off. Yes, our dogs know how to take off their own clothes! If we happen to see them struggling at all, then we help them of course. But those dog s really love their clothes.

My dog, Petey, that passed away used to wear little doggy shirts. It wasn't for fashion tho it was b/c he was a tiny dog with very thin fine fur and he got cold easily. He was an indoor dog and loved wearing them...in fact would wrestle it from me when I would take it off to change it. Our cat we have now, Morgana, does not wear anything but her fur and I'm sure I'd draw back a bloody stump if I even attempted to dress her. LIVE IN PEACE

Though some actually suggest that this act can be cruel, I beg to differ. Think about this - if humans love to look good, why not animals as well? As long as the extra clothes or accessories do not hamper the animals in e.g. their movement, health, I see no harm. ;-)

I think dressing up animals is hilarious, although I would never subject my cat to it. I do toy with the idea of dressing up my rats as pirates come Halloween time every year. My sister has a small dog and she has to put clothes on it to keep it warm when it's cold outside, because the coat is so thin and the dog so tiny.

People has different opinion about this, some like it ...some don't. Just follow what you think is good. They all have their own reason, although I've never seen dressing up rats as pirates...wait, I think I did see it on movie...

well,i dont like seeing pets dress up..hehe i mean that it looks cute but if you will ask me, i will still prefer my pets undress. i have two dogs at home and we dont dress them up. they are just in their natural selves. they look cuter. i mean, i dont pretty much enjoy them in a fancy out fit.. they look less than a dog..or something. i just cant appreciate it.. i like them as ease, and i can hug them and they are also most comfortable without clothes and those stuffs! dogs have furs, and those furs are there to keep them warm... guess what's that i am trying to say!:)
