I just found this site that's simular to Mystery Shopping, but it's called ShadowShopper. It's free to join and it sounds good, but just wanted to know if anyone has joined or heard of it?

Yes I used shadow Shoppers when I first started Mystery Shopping over 5 years ago. At that time you could join for a 1 month trial period for $15. I was a complete Novice and it did help me make some contacts. I cancled after the trial period. Now I know that you can really do all the research on your own. I have a web sight Mystery Shopping Know-How http://www.mysteryshoppingknowhow.com All of my information is free and I do not receive any refferal fees. It is strictly to provide information on Mystery Shopping. It has a link to the MSPA sight which list over 100 Mystery Shopping companies that you can sign up with for free. I have my Gold MSPA Gold Certification and lots of experience in the field of Mystery Shopping. Check out my web page I think you will find some helpful information.

I'm on the basic, free level. They send you info about mystery shopping jobs in your area, then you are supposed to contact the actual company that's providing the job. I work with CRI and joined SS to see what else is available in my area. They send me lots of info and sometimes the email blurb will mention the company to contact. You're supposed to upgrade your SS membership to find out the real info. When I see a company name, I'll sign up with them on my own. :) Free that way. I think I've got about a dozen companies I'm registered with, but CRI is the only one I've ever gotten jobs with. And I've had close to 50 with them so I can't complain.

Narm is really helpful. You will register and dependent on how many contacts they have in your area you could be working alot. They have presets (personally I don't find fun) and they have simple things like tagging shelves, or doing some inventory counts and stuff like that. If you have the time and patience it could be a good way to pass time. I would never expect full time income. But be sure to keep your reputation clean if you sign up for an assignment and don't show they will mark you as that. Check it out it is really informative.

Sounds interesting. How did you get on with this? Was it worth the money it was asking?

I am new to this mystery shopping thing, but one thing I haev learned after doing loads of research on the subject is that you should never pay anyone to sign up for mystery shopping. I would consider shadow shopper to be a scam, or maybe the more appropriate term is "a ripoff". They basically entice you with promisin free sign up, then charge you for actually getting access to the necessary info, and all of this you can get for free at the legitimate sites. I personally signed up for www.aboutface.corp, a site that I got recommended from a friend. As I mentioned though, I am new to the mystery shopping, so I haven't actually got a job yet. I would also suggest that you put your profile on Narms National Association for Marketing, and that you go to Pat's website. I think she gave you a link in her response, it is really a good website with loads of great information, and I am so happy that I came across it myself, before I really ener the field of mystery shopping.
