Is that a good thing? or a bad thing? I mean most of us are here to make money, or at least that is how we all started here, some like me, have turned to enjoying the discussions and the friends they have acquired here, but unsure if I should be upset that I am not making the money like I used to, but people like my discussions more ... is that a good thing ?? What do you think ( oh, and I rate all my discussions and try alway mark best response )

Earnings do seem to fluctuate a lot-- especially if discussions you've responded to have been deleted, or an entire account was deleted, and you had replied to several of that person's discussions. You may sometimes also have noticed that the number next to your username will suddenly be lower than last time you looked-- again, dicussions with your answers were deleted. I think they are making a lot of updates at the moment-- my earnings have been going up and down within the same 30-40 cent range for the past half hour.
For that very reason, I always try to minimize my activity in both the "myLot" and "make extra money" topics, simply because SO much stuff in these categories ends up deleted for guideline violations.
As for your star rating-- there's actually a chance it went UP because discussions were deleted where someone had given you a "-" (probably for writing a response that "took too long to read" in their opinion!), and that now is off your record. Or it could simply be because you're a quality individual!

Earnings are always fluctuating and now being the end of month it is bound to happen all the more.so don't rely on the figure you see just yet. It is definitely a good thing that people like your discussions, what is not to like? You bring out some wonderful topics..keep them coming classygal:)

I am thinking my earnings went down because I spend so much of my time now rating and marking best response that I am not earning the money like I used to earn when I would be on here.

I don't think the earnings going down has anything to do with the star reputation going up. At least I don't think so.
I think the only reason why we see our earnings fall is because they are deleting repeat discussions and such. It does not meant that those answering knew it was a repeat. So, our reputation does not fall.
Honestly though, I really dislike this star reputation thing.
I have found it to be very discouraging. I made someone upset and my star took a drive from 10 to 8 in two days! Ouch! And even though I am still posting quality responses...it is not moving up. :(

I have no idea. I just joined this week but I am enjoying myself. I don't even think I have a star yet or a rating. LOL
