Philippines

Easter egg hunting has been a tradition in many places. It was been a tradition for christians to celebrate Easter with Egg hunting. My question is when did this event start from? Is it biblical? Your responses will answer my doubts. Thanks!

Nope, definitely not Biblical. It actually comes from Pagan celebrations of Spring. There were many things that Christianity adopted in order to help convert people, and this is one of them. That's why so many "Christian" traditions can't really be traced to anything Biblical, because they were absorbed as Christianity stormed across the globe. Many fertility goddesses who were honored primarily in spring had as their symbols bunnies, other young animals, and of course... eggs.

I think it is a pagan tradition that the church adopted. I think it is a good one though.

Everyone else already answered :( I like to color eggs.. I will do that as soon as I can get away with it. Do you color your eggs or do you use plastic?
