Im building my first PC and originaly things were going fairly well. Initially the bios went through and I attempted to install XP but couldnt find a verification disk and decided to try again the next day when I found it. Day2 I ran into trouble by shorting out my board with the motherboard screws. After that was solved, I attempted to reboot and got through part of the Bios and it has now stopped at the DMI Pool. Sorry I dont have time to read through all the boards. Is it possible some settings got changed and I need to get into bios to reestablish that I want to boot from CD ROM. CD ROM and HD are all recognized in the boot process. Jsut a hang up at the DMI. Please advise. After work im going to give it my best but wanted to get as much troubleshooting help as possible before i attempted. I have also read a bit about resetting CMOS. Co9uld that be an issue as well. Thanks ahead!
