Anyone feel like they have more responsibility as a daughter than their brother?

I feel like my parents expect more from me when it comes to general care taking duties than they do from my brother. Its always my responsibility to take my grandmother places or make sure I visit all of my relatives or do things around the house. Does anyone else feel that way? Why do you think parents do that?

I think parents are this way because females are more sensitive to duties and responsibilities at home. Our sense of home duty is bigger than at males.

I agree with you, sometimes I feel that I'm the only one at home doing anything while my brother has less responsabilities. It's so frustating that I use to claim some justice about this. Be the older sister might help too.

I always felt that way when I was living at home. I have a younger sister but she was gone most of the time and my mother worked alot so that basically left me to do everything because it wasn't expected of my two older brothers. I cooked, cleaned, did laundry, ran errands. I had to start doing that when I was eleven. I don't know why parents do it. I quess because that was the way they were raised.
