"Do as I say and not as I do!"

As a child, I'm sure you've heard this statement from your parents. You'd cringe and more than likely you vowed that when you had children, you'd NEVER say anything like that to them. Now that you're older and you have children of your own, do you catch yourself saying the exact same line to your offspring or those that are in your charge?
What other phrases did your parents used to say to you that you find yourself saying to your little ones?

There were so many things that my parents said to me that I promised never to say to my kids...and now I can honestly say,"I'm turning into my mother!" Maybe there is a reason why we say the same things. My mom was and still is a great mom. Even though there were times when I was little that I didn't quite agree. Now that I have 2 stepsons and I am also 8 months pregnant I listen to and repect my parents advice more then ever. Although there is one saying to this day that my mom used to say to me that I couldn't stand. It was "it's just as easy to love a rich man as it is a poor one". Now that I am married she never says it but I remember hearing it all the time growing up.

My most despised phrase growing up was when I felt sick to my stomach and my mother would ask me if I needed to use the bathroom. I always told her that I would never do that to my children! However, now that I have two girls of my own, the older one will come to me and tell me that her tummy hurts and that she is going to use the bathroom to see if that will make her feel better. That is how many times I have asked her if she needed to go when she felt sick!
