Does your kid watch a lot of cartoon network?

My baby is not even a year old but can make out when we reach a cartoon channel while flipping through channels. She screams and makes noises and wants to watch it. Will this be a cause of concern as she grows up, i mean does watching cartoons reach a point which gets parents worried?

My son constantly watches the caroon network. I would say yes, it is a cause for concern. He is 8 now and I wish I would have cut down on the tv more a long time ago. Now he relates alot of life with the cartoons he watches. It sometimes seems that he lives and breathes for the tv. That is definitely his punishment now though. No tv when he does something wrong. I also don't let him watch in the am when we are getting ready or in the evening when we first get home. He has to do his homework and chores and can watch some tv after we eat dinner.

i guess in a way punishment is clearly defined..so its easier to make him do things isnt it?

You know, my son is a pretty good kid. He just whines alot. If I tell him to take out the trash all he does is whine, but he whines while he takes it out. Most times I am just punishing him for his whining and bad attitude. He's not generally mean or doing dangerous, mischeivious things so the punishment of no tv kinda fits you know. It's when he does other things that are a little more serious that he gets a more serious punishment.

It is recommended that children under 2 years old not watch any television at all, cartoon or otherwise. However, that doesn't seem very realistic to me. Essentially in order for kids not to watch tv, their parents would also not have to watch it.
I'm a pretty big cartoon fan myself, so I'm happy that my son also enjoys them. I do try to make sure that we spend some time each day with the television off though.
I don't think cartoons are any different than any other television shows when it comes to whether they are good for kids or not. Some are educational, others aren't, and too much tv in general is the problem, not cartoons specifically.

i had 2 kids. Both of them very like to see cartoon network. For me...is good for them they leart somethin from the cartoon. Kids brain are very fast to catch something what they see. They learn. However you must had time table for them not to see a lot of cartoon. Sometimes can make them feel lazy to open their homework.

i worry that it can stop children from actually playing which is a good physical exercise for growing children.
