Is emptiness better than constant hurting?

I hate forcing myself to let go of one person that I need in my life. It's the only thing that makes sense but at the same time, it's the same thing that complicates me.
I know that I am better off without that person, yet I feel empty whenever I try to let go. Is emptiness better than constant hurting?

Having this person physically beside you but not emotionally is meaningless and therefore "empty". You don't feel empty because this person completes you, but because you don't constantly get hurt when she is not around. Use this "emptiness" as motivation to better your life and find a better person.

Time heals all wounds and I do believe that you should let go. It would take time to heal but eventually you will. That person will always be in the back of your mind since that person has been a part of your life and you will remember that person: all the good and bad memories you've shared. But I think you'll survive and be a better person in the long run.
