Has anyone read or seen the DVD The Secret?

I have not read the book nor seen the movie but I am definitely interested to do so. Without having read the book, I can't offer much insight into the specifics...but as far as positive thinking goes- I do believe that there is a certain truth to thinking things into being. Not so much because you actually thought them into being, but because your thoughts influence your actions. I think that if you are expecting something good to manifest, you unconsciously (and consciously) take the steps towards reaching that goal. Almost like learned helplessness...if you think that you can't do it, then you won't do it. This is definitely a book that is on my list of things to read though.

I saw the movie a year ago. Watched it first on the computer, then bought the first version, and then when the second one came out, I bought that one too. there are many threads about the secret -- you should do a search and see what comes up. I read the book and i found one flaw: 1. they say you can cure any illness with the secret! even CANCER! that sounds really dangerous to me, but i guess it is because i don't believe... I think some of the practices that it advocates make sense, like using meditation and being kind to yourself, eliminating negative thoughts, that advice is helpful. but when i'm sick, i'm going to see a doctor!!
