Yes it is normal to have nightmares. The frequancy however is where you may depart normal. If you have a lot of nightmares, like at least two or more a week, this would not be normal I think.
Nightmares are dreams that are trying to deal with our fears. It may seem totaly unrelated but whome how these dreams are caused but you perhaps hidden fears.
If you have a lot of them there is something that is deeply bothering you. It may be realted or totaly unrelated to the dreams but there will be at least some realtion to them.
If we are in a lot of stress from almost any source it will do it.
Are you having problems with a relationship.....work....other ares of your life....loss of someone you loved? If you are and you work those out your nightmares should be gone. Give it some deep thought and see if this could be it.

Everybody's afraid in nightmares. If they weren't, they wouldn't be called nightmares. :P And yes, it is normal to have them sometimes. It is not normal to have them very often, though.
