do politicians run for position becuase they wanted to serve their fellowmen or is it becuase the money and power they they would get if ever elected. what are your views?

both they want to serve people in order to earn money and power like construction of roads and highways where one can earn by cheating the money from the state's fund by overpricing materials and declaring it is the real price. one can serve the people for the road and can get rich because of the money from the construction project that was cheated
