I love, love, love riding roller coaster and even the other rides that makes you want to scream your lungs out. I always love the excitement and thrill that comes with it . I posted this dicussion because I witnessed a girlfriend before who have this unexplained fear for those rides. We were with a group of friends and we kept forcing her to go and ride with us. She sat beside me and while we're buckling our seat belt, I can actually began to smell her fear. When we're up to the top, she began to shake uncontrollably and screamed. She was holding my wrist and dugging into my flesh and screaming hysterically to stop the ride. I thought she's going to faint right there in front of me. Its a good thing the controller heard her and immediately halt our ride. Even when we're down on the gound, she was still quaking with fear. She confessed to me that she's afraid of height and felt like she's going to fall down. My forearm ended up with a lot of bruises and wounds.
Anbody who have some wild experiences about riding in one of those rides. I like to hear about your adventure.

I love roller coasters. The bigger and faster they are the better, lol. I went on my first one when I was 13. Actually my dad forced me on the Iron Wolf and Six Flags Great America (outside of Chicago). I was terrified and kept my eyes closed the whole time. Then he forced me on the American Eagle which is a huge side by side wooden racing coaster (one of the few left in the US). I thought I was going to be sick waiting in line. I am terrified of heights and that ride is older then I am and looked rickety, lol. That was like 17 years ago.
Now my favorite ride at Great America is the Eagle. It rocks! My second favorite is the other wooden coaster and then the Raging Bull. But, unfortunately, I can't go on looping coasters anymore. I get motion sickness now. Last time I did a looping coaster I felt like I was going to throw up for over an hour after I got off and I was so dizzy and my head was pounding. It sucks because I really like them.
I haven't been on a roller coaster since my honeymoon to Disney World. We went on that Rockin' Roller Coaster one. But it was the only one because I was 3 months pregnant and we all know you are not supposed to ride coasters while pregnant. I haven't even been to Great America since 1999 so I haven't gotten to ride any of the new rides. It is too hard to go with a bunch of little kids that are too small to ride yet.

I like riding roller coaster so much! It's amazing, an unforgettable experience. It makes my stomach shakes, but also makes me enjoy the sensation -I like it. But when I turned down from the roller coaster, my neck and back were painful. I don't know why

Oh to be young and adventurous again!
I too loved the thrill of riding a roller coaster when I was younger.
The surge of adrenalin rushing through my body was a high I couldn't explain.
And the feeling of freedom was exhilarating. But as I get older my heart beats faster just looking at one. I don't think it could stand the excitement.
Could it be because the last time I was on one it malfunctioned and I had to sit at the top of the highest peak for 2 hours? After a while the anticipation of the drop made me feel nausous. I realized at that time that I was getting to old for that kind of excitement.
So I will leave this thrill for the younger daredevils to enjoy.

I am a total coaster junkie! The faster, wilder, and scarier it is the better!
I've ridden loads of coasters in my time. I love the ones that go upside down.
At Canada's Wonderland in Ontario there's one coaster that you stand up on. I can't for the life of me remember what it's called now, but I went on that and I got such an adrenaline rush from it. I was on a high for the rest of the day lol.

I had it once and once that's it. I was with a group of friends. A seasoned adventurer advised us - hold tight, scream at the top of your voice. Few of us first timers did all that and when the ride ended, most of us were throwing out. I felt giddy, legs were wobbly and I feel like throwing out. Nothing came out. The group just sat down, most feeling sick. I am not exagerrating, yes, it took the group two hours to recover from the 'shock' - before all the 'sick' ones can walk steadily. I never had a go at it anymore. Not even other rides.

I hate roller costers! I always refused to ride them when I was a kid. Even after I grew up I still refused. One day my husband and a friend convinced me to ride one, I hated every minute of it. I will never do it again.

I find roller coasters exhilirating. I went on the Shock Wave at Six Flags over Texas when I was 7. The ride was in loops and it made me feel like I was going to fall off the ride. I had a major headache afterwards. I've had many experiences with roller coasters where I screamed my lungs out. But I can't go on them anymore due to health problems.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with holding tight while on a rollercoaster? :P
Though I wouldn't say I will wet my pants while on such a ride, I still fear for my safety. When I took the rollercoaster at Disneyland, I did hold on tight. It has happened before - who is to say something won't go wrong? :PP
But if you dare to trust your life to fate and let go, I guess you will enjoy the thrill. I prefer the safer water-themed rides personally - I like to be splashed a little too.

I love roller coasters. They are a blast. I remember when I was a teenager my step-father took us to this theme park that had a roller coaster that had a corkscrew and at first my mother wwas totally scared but she knew she had to face her fear so we got in line and then we couldent get her off it. She kept getting back in line.

I have never tried a roller coaster ride. I am not scared of hight or anything, but somehow I don't feel safe riding a roller coaster. Avoiding roller coaster ride is for me like a precaution. As I don't feel it safe I am not thinking to try it.

I hate riding roller coasters or any of those thrill seekinmg rides. I don't know, I just don'y like the feeling of it. I tried riding roller coasters and I just closed my eyes the whole time and just waited for the ride to be over. It seems like it's the longest day of my life, waiting for the coaster to stop. The worst part is, I really feel dizzy after the ride. Maybe that's one reason why I hate riding roller coasters.
