Betrayal of Trust

I saw a movie last night about a woman haunted by her dark past. She went to Masterman, a well-known psychiatrist who drugged and raped his patients, but her family fell apart and she was still alcoholic. Then came another shrink who hypnotized her into going back in time when she was just 7 years old. It was then that she finally learned that she was raped by her own dad. But is it possible to go back in time when you can hardly remember all the things in the past? Would you want to be hypnotized and learn everything that you think will help you understand and accept yourself?

Truth really hurts and sometime's in able to accept oneself and learn to deal with present and be a more responsible person in the future we should really learn to accept who we are and what we do in the past. For me I'm willing to be hyponitized to learn more about my missing self and my quest to complete my existence even the past was not very good to look back it is somewhat fill the blanks of your life and it made you more realize how things would happen to you in the present and in the future.

You're probably a strong woman. Getting over the shock of astonishing and bitter revelations may take time, or even cost one's own life. (smile)

Yes it is possible and it is also very scary. When you are hypnotized they can bring memories up that you have buried for many years, things that you have blocked for all the years as you did not want to know them to you they did not happen, so they are buried very deep. But believe me Jackie it is possible.

i don't know where and who I got it, it says that the mind can suppress all the bad memories when it can't stand the onslaught of nightmare and horror of being the victim.

for what? Sometimes I fancy myself having six sense and power to hypnotize, then I will quickly dispel it. It's the last thing I'm going to do.

Past is key to the future! It is important that people should know their history. For the history defines people and their behavior. It is sometimes scary to know your history especially when you are bound to know your darkest past. But it is more scary that you know nothing in your past for you may hardly know what will hold you in the future. Even in hospitals do that...they get your medical history... as a result they know what proper medication to give... In science experiments...they run tests and record the events....they succeeded. Knowing your past would help you interpolate your future. Should you know that you are raped victim? Embrace it! You can't change your past anyways. What you can do today is do something to cope with your past. There is peace in acceptance...Accepting your past would help you plan for your future. If given a chance to regress...i will not hesitate to go back from the past to understand myself even better.

I guess you're right. But only a few will do that, and make themselves something out of the past. That takes more than courage. As for the doctors, they have hard facts and well-researched data to back them up, while past may only be a figment of one's imagination come to life from too many negative thoughts. If it really happened, I don't think it will guide us all in our pursuit for peace and happiness. That depends on how one looks at it. If it's too ugly and beyond description, it'll just hound to madness. But then there are some people who choose to face it down, and bury it deep under. After all, happiness is a choice when you care to look hard for it.

There are two questions :is it possible to go back...? and would I want to be hypnotized and learn everything ...? To the first I have never experienced a hypnotism . many people say it is real , but none of my friends and acquaintances have experienced it . But if it is true I will wish to know my past .

Yes I am seriously thinking of getting hypnotized and find some answers which I firmly believed locked in past life. This practice is called "Past Regression Theory" and in this you are slowly slowly sink back in yours past life and reach out for what you looking for.You may search about it in any search engine or take a look here.http://www.lifepositive.com/mind/personal-growth/past-life-therapy/past-life-therapy.asp

If it's posible then why not? We have the rights to know what is important to us. If this kind of events can clarify some of your vague memories then it's worth trying it out. If you're going to accept this kind of procedure you should ready yourself of the worst thing that you may uncover.

I think I would want to be hypnotized. It might help me get my head together. In this lady's case I'm not sure it did her any good to find something out like that.

yes i do believe it is possible to hypnotize a person and make them remember thier past.i do believe in it.though it may be vague in some cases it is possible to do so.i would love to be hypnotized and go back in time.i know there is no other choice than to accept the facts since there is nothing we can do to change the past and we ll have to continue with our life no matter what.

I have actually considered it.I think if you are ready toface yourself and want to really propell yourself into the self improvement zone then i think it is not a bad idea. But one has to be ready and courageous to embark on this trail I would not advise it without the helpof close loved ones, just in case there is something that might nock one back a bit.

I think that is very possible when one is hypnotized to remember things that happened in the past. The human brain is such an interesting thing and part of its coping mechanism is to shut out those memories that are traumatic. Going back to ones past through hypnotism or regression is a tool used by many therapist. But so call memories of regression is still higly probable. Though many claims to have better understanding of themselves by letting themselves remember their past experiences, I still believe that it is unnecessary and that one still can know oneself even without recalling those experiences unless one has complete loss of memory.

No, I don't think I would allow anybody to hypnotize me under any circumstances, how do we know that they don't introduce other thoughts into your subconcious mind. I don't even like watching it on tv and seeing people doing really stupid things under hypnosis.

Perhaps I would just add that when someone encounters a traumatic experience, the shock may be so great that the memory of that incident is buried away in order to protect the person. It is part of the auto defence mechanism of the human body. Things cannot be forgotten... let alone something of such great impact. With hypnosis, that memory might be induced to resurface again. Only someone really desperate would agree to be hypnotised - because you give yourself into the hands of the hypnotist who will then have total power over you.

I don't mind the hypnotist having total power over me. I'm more scared of what I will discover than anything else. It's just now that I realized I would trade myself to change my past. It's unthinkable and horrible I catch my self staring blankly into space. I don't want to know the start and end of it. I'm not incriminating my family either. They've been good. But there are demons hounding me nobody will dare speak of. It's just too much for my sanity.
