Can ants see?

Yes! Ants have two compound eyes. Compound eyes have many parts called lense that help insects to see well.

Ants can see because they have eyes. However, their eyes could best recognize a thing when they get nearer to it. Ants have poor eyesight, but they are not blind. They go back and forth to a certain area where they were able to get food because they have memories of landmarks. Once you mess up their paths, they will be confused and won't probably be able to go to their destination.

they can see, but what im wondering is why they still bump on each other?

Most ant species have very small eyes and poor vision. Their eyes are compounded , that is divided into very small sections. Each section works like a separate eye. Some ants are almost blind and they find their way around using their antennae and smell sensors.

yes they have compound eyes, they are just so small that you don't notice them and they are generally the colour of the ant's head. Why did you think ants couldn't see? howdo you think they managed to survive for millions of years without sight?
