One old writing trick is to take a line from a book that's already written and just write that line and keep writing from there. You can always throw the line away later (after all, it's plagarism to keep it), but sometimes just reading a line will give you some thoughts.
Another idea is to do some research about the subject that you are interested. For example, you want to write a sci-fi thriller, you can research space ships (see what other authors have created in the past and use that as your jumping off point) or if you want to write something historical (western), you can see how people really lived, get some details, and start your imaginary journey through the Old West.
Hope these suggestions help. I'd love to hear what other writers do to get them started when they've got writer's block!

My advice: Write what you feel. Listen to songs, take a notepad with you on the way out. Read lots of novels and in many genres (children's lit, young adult, historical fiction, creative nonfiction, etc). Good luck.

Reading is the only first step to be a good writer. do a lot of reading so you will be come a good in writing.
read anything, not only the subject you like.
read is not only with book, but watching TV, Movie, people behavior, etc. are also important thing to increase your vocabulary (wawasan).
