Yep, of course it is! Just like windows 98, and Windows XP. It is afterall, the best operating system on the market today! I plan on getting Windows Vista as soon as I possibly can.

Don't do it. You'll regret it. Windows XP was actually 3rd OS produced after Windows 98. Windows Me was the successor to Windows 98 and it was a complete flop. That's probably why you didn't know about it.

Well till the next year it will not be because of its higher requirnments and also nobody is having a decent pc right now and also its prize its too high for the peoples and also its low versiones dont support virtual machines like vmware also its not so fast than windows xp. So till next year it doesnt gonna count in industry.

I hope not. I don't like windows anymore. I used to use windows but when I switched to Linux I found a very good operating system. Windows Vista is too young, so I think it has a log of bugs now like other Microsoft products, and it is too expensive. I suggest you to switch to Linux.

Right now unless your buying a new computer it won't have any sort of affect you. But in time I believe it will be excepted. What choice will we have? In a couple of years Microsoft will no longer offer tech support for XP and unless you know a lot about working on a computer you'll be out of luck. Besides, none of the computers made January of this year were made for this year made to upgrade to Vista.

I dont like to say this sort of thing about Microfosft but i dont think we will have much choice but to accept it. Microsoft have put too much time and effort into this and will ensure the market is flooded with Vista. I have heard a couple of horror stories already but thaat is like most things it may only need a bedding in period and for users to get used to it.

Not likley. I think due to the cost of $400 many might just live with what they have. I'm still using Windows 98 on my one computer at home and it works fine.

It's kinda question to change our paradigm. It's not something bad to change into the new one. It just like change our routine route going to the office, that's all. Vista have their own features (modern and dynamic, cool and graphically) especially in appearances. Even with beta release, there have addicted people already :) it seems new thing is to fulfill the needs to change.

Definitely not. Windows 98 was a big hit because Windows 95 was kind of crappy and people wanted to change. The vast majority of the public is very happy with Windows XP so there really is no need to upgrade. Right now Windows Vista is looking like the next incarnation of Windows Me. Windows Me came out in the year 2000 and a few people upgraded to it since it was the new millenium. It was supposed to be so much better than Windows 98, but most people threw it in the trash and went back to 98. The reason? Compatibility. Most hardware manufacturers never made drivers for Me, just like Vista. It had too many bugs, and had conflicts with even the most common and popular of programs. I really think Vista will go down in history as another big blunder for microsoft that they will stop supporting in less than a year.

The price of Vista will come down. But if not, You can help yourself with a pirated version and it will not kill your system as the newspaper say it. Those newspaper guys just publish whatever they recieve in the air. But there are many ways that you can work fine with pirated vista. Yes the system requirements are high but soon we all would need to upgrade our pcs with the changing times! Ping me if you ppl want more info about working with pirated vista and not getting caught by microsoft.

Woow WIndows Vista.. what a hot subject i can say. I have talked a lot in my area with many of my friends and all of them had only positive thoughts about it. I can say that i was blow off by this new windows system. Some things certainly lack to it but this new look which Microsoft has incorporated in it certainly do the money you would give for it. I have waited this new system for 2 weeks and here i am using it. It was pretty hard for me to buy it because in my area it can't be found. So i had to ask a friend from another part of my country to order me. I am so happy using it and all i have are only words of gratitdue. I post here a short description about VISTA. Windows Vista contains hundreds of new features; some of the most significant include an updated graphical user interface (GUI) and visual style dubbed Windows Aero, improved searching features, new multimedia creation tools such as Windows DVD Maker, and completely redesigned networking, audio, print, and display sub-systems. Vista also aims to increase the level of communication between machines on a home network using peer-to-peer technology, making it easier to share files and digital media between computers and devices. For developers, Vista includes version 3.0 of the .NET Framework out of the box. The .Net Framework makes it significantly easier for developers to write high-quality applications than with the traditional Windows API. Yes Vista is very known now in the realm of Windows
