Any pen that writes in black ink. I can't stand all the different coloer pens out there these days. And the worst is when you pick up a pen and it won't work at all. Ball or fountain, does not reall matter to me.

I always use a red or blue ball point to edit a printout of my work. Otherwise, it is black ink or pencil as I mentioned in a previous post.

Oh, goodness me. I'm not fancy or talented enough to use a fountain pen. I use a ballpoint pen, usually, but I really prefer the "gel" type of pens, or liquid graphite pencils. They're much smoother than normal ballpoint pens (the cheap ones) and I find that I can write much more quickly. If I try to write with a fountain pen, I just end up blobbing it everywhere.

Fountain pen is lovely but if i want towrite quickly i use gel pen which is lovely, especially asi am learning to write chinese characters and they come up really lovely with the gelpen. I like the thickness of the writing, i don't like the very fine tipped ball points.

Ideally fountain pens; however, a ballpoint pen or even a pencil is what I use when I do not use the computer. I do almost all of my official/formal writing on the computer. But when I have a 'special' idea, I write it down with whatever I have available. I wish I was disciplined enough to use a fountain pen only...but I'm not.

I like the more liquid ink ball points or gel pens. The ink may go faster, but the pen slips on the page faster so I can write faster (and boy does my handwriting suffer for it!)
