As i am working in a BPO company, i sit for 9 hours and 3 to 4 hours at home. But everyone should take a short break as it relaxes your eyes. Whille facing the computer one should blink eyes regularly as we dont and best way to protect your eyes is to use an Antiglare glasses.

I work with the computer 8 hours a day in the office and when i'm home i usually spending 3-5 hours a day. Its like part of my life already using computer daily. Anything goes with the computer especially if you have internet in your own home and office.

I also sit about 12 hours on computer. But, take a break many times. Move to some distance and again sit on the chair. blink of eye is a natural process how can we control that. I use antiglare screen on system. Also, I do neck-exercises to release strain.

Using computers for a long time with out rest will be harmful for eyes. Even if u are using an antiglare you can feel some irritations to your eyes after some time. And with out an antiglare eye will be irritated horribly.
So give some rest to your eyes when working for long time. Don't give too much strain to ur eyes.
Also sitting same place for long time can leads to sivere back pain.
Make a habit of walking in between.
One thing you can do to protect your body is take goo sleep.
Sleep a day for atleat 7 hours.

I agree with you on the ways to relax your eyes and prevent damage to them.
You can also take a break every hour or 30 minutes if you're really concerned about your health in front of the computer. Looking out to green items far away like trees also help.
