Maybe someone can give me a little insight here. I wake up every single morning with headache pain over my right eye. The pain is pretty bad. I don't know why this happens but my tolerence for it is pretty low at this point. It's a headache but it's over my right eye, when I sit up it gets worse. I will take about 1000 mg of ibuprophen and it will fade in about an hour afterwards but then it comes back in the afternoon or when I'm active or stressed. Lately, it's been so bad in the afternoon that I have to take another 1000 mg of ibuprophen and lay down for awhile. This is really starting to effect my every day activities. At first I thought it came on in the morning cuz I needed my caffine but that's not the case as it doesn't go away after I have my coffee and breakfast. I know it doesn't have anything to do with my vision or anything like that. I think it's a migraine headache but I'm not sure what would classify it to be....does anyone have any ideas as to what would be causing this or what I can do to eliminate these headaches? Thanks for your thoughts!

Ouch.. it HURTS... I cannot stand headaches. I am not sure how painful your headache is other than it is causing some discomfort and affecting your life. It seems like tension headache to me and is stress related. I too get headaches when I am stressed but it goes away after a while. If it caused by stress, it is easier to manage. Once, I had a headache that is not stress related. The pain was so bad that it hurts my eyes, and I was running a fever. I applied a BIG piece of ice over my forehead and woke up wet from the melted ice. The pain was gone. I can't help not asking questions :P Do you sleep well? How long has this been happening? May I suggest you see a doctor for a deeper diagnosis.

I'd rather do anything than see a doctor! I sleep okay I guess and I don't think it's sleep related. Stress may be but then why do I wake up with it? I'm not stressed while I'm sleeping. If you had a headache with a fever then you had other things going on also. How long do you have your headaches before they go away?

Judging from the location, you may have a sinus headache caused my a slight infection or just the change in the weather (you didn't say how long this had been a problem). Also, dry winter air can cause the mucus in the sinuses to dry out and become "compacted" which can lead to headaches with no other symptoms. They can be very persistant and do tend to be worse in the morning. You could try using a humidfier in your room at night, which can help, and maybe switch to a sinus headache medicine, which should help releave the pressure more. However, if it doesn't improve, you probably should go see you doctor, who will probably try a few different meds on you first and maybe send you for an MRI as the next step. Good Luck.

Thanks for the great info. I've been fighting a cold/flu bug for the past 2 weeks. I'm finally over all of my symptoms but your response makes sense. It could be a lingering effect from my cold, damn it hurts though...lol. I think I'll try the sinus headache medicine and see if that helps any. Thank you!

Sounds like that just might be the cause then. I usually have the same thing happen when I get over a cold, too. Hope you feel better soon!
