I'm afraid of sharks and if the water I'm going to swim or dive in would be full of sharks, I wouldn't swim/dive there. Even if somebody make me sure, that they won't attack me.
Happily I live in Poland, and there are no sharks in the water:)So I can swim without fear.

Yah, i'm really afraid of sharks. Though, i've not seen one yet but when i watch movies or tv shows that has sharks who wanted to eat human..Gosh!! it's so terrible. Their teeth, the mouth that going to eat you whole body..ouch!! i think it's painful to be bitten by a shark..Yes, of course, it will keep me out of the water. And if i will know that, that particular beach has sharks, i dont allow myself to swim..lol

No fear of sharks here, in fact, I can't WAIT for my first shark dive. Sharks are the most beautiful creatures on the planet and to swim with them will be an epic experience!

I think sharks are incredibly neat. There are so many different kinds of sharks with different traits, and there are some sharks that are virtually unchanged since prehistoric times!
Umm... no, I'm not afraid of sharks. I have swam in the ocean before, though not recently, and I never even thought of getting attacked by a shark. I was very close to one once, it almost bumped me, but didn't quite. Somehow I'm just not scared of them.
I suppose had I actually been bitten or ever seen a shark bite happen, I would be afraid of them. I just can't muster up the proper fear for wild animals. In fact the only animal I can think of that I really fear is domestic dogs, as they have a habit of biting me.

Actually I am afaarid of sharks. I saw the movie "jaws" when I was very young and it really stuck with me. In fact when I was really young I used to have nightmares that sharks were swimming around my bed. I would be scared to get out of my bed!
As an adult, I don't have an many shark nightmares, in fact I am facinated by them and love watching nature shows about sharks. While sharkes don't keep me out of the water, I am very cautious, always researching the area if I am going to go in the ocen, I also don't go very deep, althoguh I know sharks can attack in waist deep water.
Sometimes my imagination gets the best of me though, and I only go into the water up to my ankles....it's ok though becuase where I live the ocean is very cold!

I would have to say that sharks are the just about the least of my worries in the ocean. My biggest concern is jellyfish, because the beaches that I was used to going to had a lot of jellyfish in the surrounding ocean. I remember standing with my grandmother one day on the sound side and watching thousands of them move along, undulating their bells, all heading in the same general direction. And, the next day everyone was getting stung by them on the surf side. We would hear about a shark bite--not attack, BITE--every once in a while. Attack is a word that makes the shark sound like they had intent of harm to the human being, when in actuality the only reason that they are just curious and sometimes they bite something to see what it is. I would never NOT go into the water if I heard that there was a shark in there. In fact, I might go in to investigate.
