Hi,
Here is an excellent way to install windows xp integrated with service pack 2 in less than 20 minute.The source of this type of installation is a ghost compiled image.The basic steps are as follows:
1.Start your computer.Copy the content of the dvd provided
to a local drive other than drive 'c'.
2.Restart the computer and boot the computer with the bootable dvd.Norton ghost will be automatically loaded.Now you select the ghost image that you have copied from dvd
and restore on local drive 'c'.After completion just press enter,the pc will reboot.Before pc reboots set the hard drive as the first boot device.
3. Now the pc boots up into windows xp and reconfigures itself.Thats all.

But i think i don't need this.My XP integrated with SP2 installs in about 25 min.Any ways, great info for others.

I forgot to mention that the image of windows xp also integrated with some common softwares like winzip,pagemaker/photoshop/msoffice 2003/dotnetfix/powerdvd/
huge collecton of drivers/java runtime environment and lots
more..

What is that norton ghost is it a software.I never heard about it.How much does it cost.can we do it with ordinary windows XP sp2 bootable cd.

Norton Ghost is a software to back-up or restore your operating system.You can restore your computer to a stable
condition rather than installing whole operating system from a bootable windows xp cd which takes about 90 minutes.
From backup u can install XP in less than 18 minute depending upon your system configuration.The Universal Bakup image i mentioned here can be restored to 'c' drive of any desktop or laptop computer to install windows xp sp2

If I want to do a clean install of Windows XP, then I use a winnt.sif file on a floppy disk to run an unattended install. The system will repartition and format C drive, then load Windows with all my predetermined settings taken from the floppy, so I can simply go away and return when the operating system is up and running.
