I'm touched by the scene where Matt Damien paid a visit to Jamal and told him that William Forrester had died and left a gift to him. It was the manuscripts of William Forrester's new book with a note for Jamal to insert a forward before getting the book published.

i usually feature this movie for my writing class. i know a lot of people who can write well, but have taken the craft for granted. perhaps the scene that i liked in this movie is when there rose the question as to whether Jamal deliberately missed his game-winning shot. did he want to be the college jock, or did he want to prove his worth as an intelligent student?

I believe Jamal was equally frustrated when he knew his ethnicity was partly the reason he couldn't be "closer" to Anna Paquin. Tony Chai http://options4u.blogspot.com

Well this is my favorite movie as a writer. One of the greatest scenes I could think of is when William Forrester arrived at Mailor-Callow and to everyone's awe, he read Jamal's work and approved of his talent. Whose friend can do something like that these days?
