My cat trained himself to use the toilet!

He figured it completely on his own. Has anyne else's cat done this, or have you tried to teach your cat to do so? I have seen inserts sold to train cats to use the toilet but I never dreamed they would figure it out on their own. Too bad he hasn't learned to flush!

I wish my cat would learn to do that. Maybe she should hang out with your cat.

I had a cat once that did this. We put a litterbox in the toilet and eventually we took it out and he used the potty. Its so cool to see that. And also you dont have the litter smell in your house. I dont think they can flush though.

Yes I had a cat that used the toilet. His name was Silk, he was a beautiful black cat. He wouldn't use his litter box unless you cleaned up the previous mess. He would follow me to the bathroom and after I got done would look into the toilet, I didn't think much of it, but I was his mother, he was 4 days old when his mother was hit by a car, I fed him by bottle from that day till he was winged. One day I was walking to the bathroom in my old apartment, it has anitque bathroom fixures, a claw bathtub and a toilet with the chain that you pull to flush the toilet. Anyways I walk in the bathroom and he was sitting on the toilet, I said "Hey there Silk buddy, what are you doing?" he meowed and then jumped to the cord and put his paws together and pulled the cord down and flushed the toilet. As it was flushing down, I saw Silk's poop flushing away. Soon after I only used the litter box when we were going away. I loved that cat may he RIP.

My cats must suck then. I tried to teach mine but failed. I wouldn't care if they flush or not, but that would make cleaning up so much easier. I could simply just flush once a day, lol.

that might be great and all but it's a good thing your cat can't flush because what if your cat gets a urinary infection :0 that would really suck. Or if your cat's pee had blood in it. (You know i really have no idea urinary infection is in the first place but i read it somewhere x_X) but other than that its pretty convienent so make sure you look at the toilet when you flushe your cats *stuff*

Congratulations, I know there are special arrangements for cats to use the toilet but your cat is really smart. Maybe they should make the toilets more cat-friendly, with a special flush that cats could learn to use.! :o)

My cats using the toilet - sounds wonderful, but haven't happend yet:) It would be great. I had a cat long time ago, which used to come with me to the bathroom, and seemed to think, that I'm sitting on the chair, because he tried to sit on my knies;) Maybe I have no luck to smart cats, but I love them even if they will never use the toilet:)
