Reading the paper about a local pee-wee hockey tournament where two parents fro opposites began fighting with Ref. over a call he made. This argument became so heated that they assaulted the Ref.As I was reading I was thinking this is a little kids game...they can barely skate never mind play the best game of Hockey. The parents put them in to learn Sportmanship and the game of Hockey. So What's the matter with these two other parents fighting with the Ref. and assault him? Where'stheir Sportsmanship? It was a little kids game why get all worked up over a kids game? You hear this happening more and more, I must say It must take the FUN out of it for the kids to be embarassed by their parents like that.

I just signed my boys up for little league this week and I was made to sign a statement concerning the parents conduct at games. In a way it is a good idea if a parents behavior causes the league to ban them from games b/c they were aware of the concequences. Sure, we have all seen calls made against our kids teams that were not accurate, but we don't assualt anyone. These types of incidents are exactly why many parents don't even bother signing their children up for sports after they go through one season. Over the years I have seen very questionable behavior from parents, coaches and even players. I totally agree with you that the fun is being lost for the kids. It must be terribly embarassing for them. I for one have always thought that the reason to put kids in programs like this was so that not only do they learn to play as a team but they also learn sportsmanship.

I agree with you completely! People cannot just play anymore it seems like. They take everything so seriously all the time. I have some friends with kids playing soccer. They have rules for the parents behaviour. They are not allowed to make negative coments. They are not allowed to coment on one of the players. they can only cheer for the whole team. this actually makes it better for the kids. The kids are the ones that tell the parents how to behave. parents that cannot behave themselves at their kids games should stay home. Let the kids play. they grow up, to a world where everything is so serious, fast enough
