how long will you stay "stay-at-home mom"?

i quit my job and now attends to my kids hands-on. my husband works in another country and i see no sense in my still maintaining a fulltime job and leave my kids in the care of a nanny. i feel i must have a parttime job though not only because it will help financially but felt i needed this to somehow still "connect" to the outside world. how about for other stay-at-home moms?
