A teenage model whose sister starved herself to death has also died of suspected anorexia. Eliana Ramos, 18, collapsed six months after her sister Luisel had a heart attack during a fashion show and triggered an international debates over the use of size zero models on the catwalks.
Fashion bosses in Madrid and Milan have set a minimum body mass index for girls appearing in their shows in an effort to discourage starvation diets and eating disorders.

What do you think about this news? Isn't it alarming? what should each government do to stop this from happening again?

oh that is sad.i think this is because people have a different perception of what is beautiful model. a model must be very very slender, even if it means that the model be underweight. this is not good. health shouldnt be jeopardize because of modelling or anything.it is good that fashion bosses have set a minimum body mass index for girl models in their shows, for this will prevent the unhealthy diets and eating disorders of models. i hope this will also be implemented or observed worldwide.

It's only words...
There are MANY models who are underweight and victims of anorexia.
But it's because of the people involved in fashion.
Fashion can be CRUEL and ruin your life.
I can tell you about my experience, some fashion agencies didn't want me because of my weight.
They told me I had to be slimmer to work.
And I am slim, honestly (I don't know my size in the US I guess I have a 4, xs and s anyway) and I was shocked as I heard their answer.
Something has to change, because many girls just stop eating and enter the tunnel of anorexia.

Too bad to here this story of your, whyb are there people in the fashion world that neede to be so particlular in being so slim. Isn't it enough for them just to be slim, not really bthat slim that you need to suffer from anorexia just to be very slim? I hope the government should have laws that will punished these people in the fashion industry that encourages anorexia.
