I haven't finished the 2nd book yet, but I'm guess Roran. He has proved himself in so many different ways, it would be disappointing if he isn't "rewarded." I'll have to finish Eldest, I guess, before I make it my official decision.

Thank you so much for the best response. I have finished Eldest now, and I still agree. I think the final rider should be Roran. :) This was a great topic to read, by the way.

Roran? That would be brilliant! I can't wait for this next book to come out. what a double whammy this summer, with the new HP and the new book in the Eragon series.

I think I'll choose Roran too. Amongst all the characters, he has really proven himself over and over again. He's strong, courageous, and true of heart. I think the last dragon will be his. It's only possible, considering Murtagh has the second dragon and Eragon can't beat him. He seriously needs an ally to support him.

I have read Eragon and I have read Eldest. I just saw the movie, finally, at the weekend. I don't have any idea who the next rider will be, but I am wodering what kind of a farce they will make of the next movie. I assume eldest is going to be made into a creenplay? Gosh,t hey really took liberties with turning the first bok into a movei. Poor Saphira, I couldn't believe it when they had her grow so quickly in those series of poofs and explosions. It was very silly.
Now that I think of it, maybe it will be the leader of the VArden's daughter? I can't think of her name right now.
