Does War bring Peace?

I know this sounds like a noxy-moron statement, but I have to ask. With the invasion in Iraq, and 65,000 civilians dead, and 3,000 vets dead, you have to think, is there really going to be peace in the middle east, by controlling the population with military force?
who are we kidding here?

I couldn't agree with you more. I don't believe that the war in Afghanistan and Iraq has actually done anything to fight terrorism. It may have been expedient to remove Saddam Hussein (though I don't believe that it was done because of his crimes: merely because he was being very awkward about the oil situation).
I don't think that one can ever say that 'War brings Peace'. It may end in Peace but that is not the same thing at all!

The Ancient Romans said: "Si vis pacem para bellum" = If you want peace, prepare to fight. But we know, Romans were always ready to fight, they had nothing to do with peace.
Unfortunately war takes always rage, hate, and so violence can't bring Peace. If you want peace you have to avoid violent ways and build peace patiently, but generally speaking if a state is strong militarily, has no patience, prefers to solve its problems atacking with its terrible weapons.

I don't think so,war can never bring peace in this world..I am just wondering why US military forces staying in the Iraq and Afghanistan?They are actually making the war..If they would stop attacking other countries,there will be peace.

Yes its true that war will bring peace, just like a policeman fighting crimes. Crime must be fight to make peace. But in case of invading Iraq, America's gov did a huge mistakes. Because it's nonsense to attack many people because of one's false. And did not have the agreement of many countries. What's America's Gov rights to punish to Iraq's citizen? Don't we afraid of sin killing innocent people?? How sad...
