Money eating dog

Well, the dog had a nice snack last night. She ate exactly half of a $20 bill. It couldn't have been a $1 or a $5...nooooo, it had to be a $20. Of course, the bank won't replace it. So now I am on the hunt for the other half sometime over the next few days, if you get my drift. And the yard is snow covered again from an early morning squall. Please dog, give me at least the serial number from the other half. I wouldn't have believed anybody telling me a story like this. Now I am a believer. Anybody else have this experience or similar with a pet?

I am sorry this has happened sugar. It's very upsetting. I have two cats. One of them is so naughty with any kind of paper. She already has eaten up, or shredded, $10., a check, books, papers,& magazines. She loves paper. I am sure others will have stories too. But, when they get the money, that really hurts, and I truley am sorry that you are out the $20. But, the animals don't know what they are doing.

Thanks. Yes, I remember you talking about your cats munching on all the paper around the house. I am not really upset about it, but it is true that they have no idea of what they are doing. If we could ever collect all the money that gets lost, we would probably be millioniares...lol.

No, I got her from the owners. She is just in the paper eating phase, and it will pass, I hope.

Was she ever in the shelter? I know that when they run low on money sometimes they use shredded paper in the litter boxes. I had a cat that liked to play in it, too, and I think that was why.

Well, I don't have a dog, so this has never happened to me before, but I can say, I have lost a lot of money over the years...I guess he was hungry and just wanted to eat anything that he saw in front of him. At least it was not a bigger bill, now you are going to have to keep your money out of his reach. Good luck finding it...

Thanks. No worries about losing a bigger bill, I seldom have any in my possession...lol. I have known many people who have lost much money over their lifetimes by misplacing it. I find it amazing.

Well that sucks but I bet you already knew that. I haven't had anything like this happened to me but it reminds me of a commercial where a dog swallows a cell phone and it is on hold the guy is worried because of his minutes and he could be roaming. Well if you ever get the other half let me know. I want to know how you did it. I'm sorry I just can turn it off.

If by some miracle the other half shows up, I will post a message. She did have a calculator in her mouth a while back, but no damage.

She has been eating and chewing on otehr kinds of paper. I never thought she would be able to reach the spot where I left the money. I usually don't leave money lying around. But, for some reason, she found it and the rest is history.

Yuck! lol I've had dogs get into the trash and chew on dirty diapers (NASTY!!) and I had one that LOVED Tootsie Rolls, but I've never had one that ate money! Well, not literally, anyway. ROFL My husband used to complain about the AMOUNT of money I spent on my pets but they never actually ATE money! Good luck in finding the other half! I hope it wasn't shredded before it was eaten!

Thanks, I don't have much hope in finding it. She has been chewing on other papers too. She is still a puppy, about 35 pounds worth, and I think it is just a stage she is going through.

Wheww what a snack for a dog that was almost a sack of dog food lol!! My dog is a labrador and knowing that playful dog they really love to bite things specially sleepers and even my favorite jeans was a victim too specially when their tennis ball is nowhere to found you will gonna see them biting something. I really hope you find the other half of your $20 dollar lol!!!

Thanks, but I don't think I will find it. Come to think of it, she recently jumped up and tore a hole in my jeans too. I am glad they weren't my newest pair.

No, she wasn't angry, she just likes to chew on paper and cardboard. I never dreamed she would go after money. Thanks.
