Melanoma

I went to see a dermatologist(sorry if my spelling stinks) and found out I have melanoma on my back and face. The dr, acted like I did my sun damage on purpose.I told him I wore sunblock spf 100.Same as my kids, and they never burned and I did. Then he just tells me in a smarty tone that I should have never went to the beach, or been outside while the sun was out! I couldn't believe him! I am a farmer, I garden every summer, without my gardens we wouldn't have enough of food alot of times. And I am responsible of all of the yard work at my moms and here at home. 5 arces each to mow and weedeat. I have tried to only work later in the evenings, up with sun you have daylight.I can't that stuff in the dark. So what is a idea to do? I do get up at the break of dawn, it really isn't light enough out to see much, but in the summer that is when I hit the garens or the yard work. And then try to finish it up at 6pm til dark. I also do my moms gardening. I now use since my beach burn day a big strawhat, and wear a thin airy long sleeve shirt to work in with a muscle shirt underneath. Always wearing sweats or capris. Very seldom do I wear shots unless I can have time to spread on some sunless tanner. I feel bad now, like I did something really wrong to make him talk that way to me. But I really did tell him that I was thinking I was protecting myself.100 spf, reapplying every 15 min. and it was waterproof bullfrog stuff, and it works for my kids, why not me?He never offered to say if there is anything he can do about the melanoma. Is there a treatment for it?Here's another thing, I got a plantar wart on my foot, has anyone heard of putting you foot in super hot hot water to be rid of them? He told me to do that 2 x's a day for 3 weeks.

Yea you def need to find a new doctor. There are lots of things that can be done. In your situation it seems that the only person in your family with melanoma is you but you don't know how. Well, that goes for me too. It runs genetically and sometimes no matter how hard you try to stop it from coming, becuase you were born into a family with it already you almost have no chance. Fortunatly, as mentioned before ther are many options to taking care of it and being well. I go to an oncologist and get minor surgery every time something comes up. I have 1 huge scare from a large mole and a few small ones but they aren't that bad. You can also get them burned off etc. etc. There are sooo many options. They way your doctor is speaking to you, you def need a new one. And if he didn't offer anything to you then you def need a new one. Good luck!

Are you quite serious that he never offered any treatment options? You need a new dr, an oncologist or hematologist. There are many treatment options for melanoma from surgery to immuno-therapy. Ditch your dr and find a new one.
