Yes, i have been in hostel for four years when i did my graduation. At the beginning, i felt as if i was the only person on earth and nobody to accompany me. I missed my home very much. The caring and sharing of love was not there in my life. After sometime, i got used to it. I started enjoying hostel life very much with my friends.

I think every one should spend atleast one year in hostel as its a nice experience to get.till now i dint have the experience of hostel.hostel will make you learn the basics to live alone.if you have parents with you you are bound to be a bit lazy.but i think its blessing to live live with parents.hostel life maybe is enjoyable but living with parents is very satisfying.

that is absolutely correct. We have to get used to live alone also. When we live with parents, we are in the safe hands. But, one has to know about the outside world also. Thank you for the response

I am not familiar with the hostel lifestyle but in answer to your question...I have spent a large portion of my life away from my parents. For 12 years, I lived over 1,000 miles away from them and only saw them 4 or 5 times when they came to visit. The past 14 years I have been 2,000 miles away from them. Last summer was the first time I had been home in 14 years and I spent about 5 days with the family. My parents have come to visit my home about 3 times in the past 14 years. I stay close to them by phone, internet and mail. Now that they are getting older and are not able to travel as much, I know I am the one who will be returning home more often. Strangely, I do not feel that I am missing anything like love or caring or sharing.
