spiteful cat, help!!

help, my two year old cat is so spiteful, she scrathes everyone that tries to stroke her!!she been like it for a while now but i need her to change as i have a baby and need her not to scrath her, she was like this long before baby here so aint down to baby. i dont no if shes maybe a half feral cat, or if its because shes an indoor cat, or because we've moved house three times?

The first thing to do is take her to the vet and have her checked out. Cats can't tell us if they don't feel good, but they can become very sensitive and not want to be touched (it may actually hurt to be touched).
If the vet says she is OK ask; either the vet or someone who works at an animal shelter what to do. These people know all about animal behavior and can tell you how to deal with this behavior, usually at no cost.
I got a cat from a shelter and he would let you pet him a little and then suddenly bite you. It took some time and patience; but, we can sit and pet him for a long time now without any biting.
