For all of us die hard Bucs fans, we have reason to rejoice. We have one more year of watching Mike Alstott carry the ball again. For all the ups and downs the Bucs franchise has been through this is definitely an up. What else can you say about a franchise that will work out a deal with its faithful players to grant the wish of one more season before retiring. I praise the Bucs and I hope all of you do as well for granting Alstott his wish of being able to retire playing only for one team and retiring as a Buccaneer.

Wonderful that they are keeping Alstott, but unfortunatly one person does not make a team. And their terrible performance last season made me hang my head in shame. I hope they can get their acts and personality disagreements in order for a better season.

One person doesn't make the team, but one person can be the difference between a lack luster attitude and a motivated attitude. That is one of the things Alstott contributes along with a few other players. Plus all of that experience sure doesn't hurt.
I don't really think last season involved any personality disagreements. They definitely need to get their acts together though. Last season was really about injuries and not following through when given the opportunity. If anyone can change that I believe Gruden will.

I am not a Tampa Bay fan but I do think that it is good that Tampa is keeping Alstott as he is a good back and very strong and tough to tackle. It would be hard to see him in another uniform. I see that you also have good news in that you signed my Eagles former quarterback Jeff Garcia and also acquired Jake Plummer. I am not sure why you need three big time quarterbacks though.

I believe that if Alstott would not have been signed for one more year that he would have retired after 11 years. Alstott stated specifically that he was going to retire as a Buccaneer. He just wants to play for them for as long as he possibly can.
Yes we did sign Jeff Garcia and we did acquire the rights to Jake Plummer but he decided to retire. Even though Rattay is a free agent there are talks still going on with him. The reason for all this is because the Bucs are looking for some veterans to add to their quarterback roster. In a league where quarterbacks are getting hurt more often, a solid second string is essential. After two years in a row of losing their first string quarterback early in the season, the Bucs now understand this.
