I, too, am very into painting as a hobby. I got away from it for many years, but now that I have more time I'm trying to get "my groove back". I'm getting ready to attempt a rather large project for my Church's Easter Service. Maybe you could offer some suggestions?
What I'm thinking of doing is getting a large piece of material--perhaps muslin or canvas?--and fashioning a homemade frame to hold it in place. Then, attempt to paint a scene representing the resurrection of Christ.
Because I don't have much (any) money, I'm trying to think of ways to do this in the least expensive way possible. The painting will be pretty large; it will(in my vision) cover the area of the Baptismal Pool. I still have to go and measure it out. I'm thinking the size of a twin size bedsheet would do it...maybe a little shorter.
Any ideas or suggestions are more than welcome!
Peace,

Why not use a bed sheet with acrylic paints? Maybe you could find a bed box spring frame in a dump and use that to fasten your material to.
Sounds ambitious. Good luck to you. Let us know how it turns out.

Sheets, YES!!! Don't forget to "size" it with gesso first. If you don't you'll lose a lot of paint and paint workability to the absorption of the sheet. Good luck & post a picture of the finished work -- we'd love to see it!!

Yes it's really one of God's graces . One who knows painting is very much blessed. Sometimes it feels good when someone enjoys and appreciates your paintings.

Yea! Other painters! I was beginning to think I was the only one. What is your medium? I use pastels on Canson paper primarily, although occassionally I do charcoal drawings.
What have you painted? Are you working on anything now? Have you ever sold any of your work?
I look forward to hearing more about your art.
