India is coming along pretty good when it comes to technological and engineering advancements. However, unfortunately, India has a long way to go in its social, political and economical sectors. The social disparity (quality of life) between the rich and poor is overwhelming. Let's face it. When some people live in large beautiful homes and others live with open sewers running by their front door, something is gravely wrong. There has to be a closing of the gap between the two classes. The rich don't have to give anything up but the people as a whole need to give the poorest some dignity. The political corruption in India is out of control. Every country has political corruption but there are those like India where it's second nature, common and done with no remorse. That needs to be addressed before India will become a super power. The economy in some respects is fairly good but things like infrastructure and peoples needs aren't being met as well as could easily be met. India needs to quickly develop a mass transit system that works. More railways, more paved roads, more roads period, a set standard for sewage systems throughout India. Further develop social programs to assist the social status of the people. There are many more minor things, like other countries but these are the items that would need to be addressed before the world will accept India as a super power. The bad news is the three things I mentioned are tied together; social, political and economical sectors. The good news is the three are tied together. It all depends on how India wants to view itself.
