Iran can sink USS Stennis with Fox News' help

The aircraft carrier USS Stennis is "parked" in the Arabian Sea, Fox News reported today. That's just great. Tell Al-Qaeda on international TV where the Americans are. That way, it's easy for a rogue group or even Iran itself to launch a missile at the USS Stennis and sink it, planes and all. Real smart. Al-Quaeda already tried to sink the USS Cole and almost succeeded. Now that missiles are available (and Iran just bought more from the Russians), anyone can take potshots at U.S. carriers and get lucky.

Iran knows its their already, trust me. President Bush warned that a new carrier group would be brought in to the gulf and you can be sure the Iranians already knew they were there.

Actually George Bush is doing this on purpose.
Iran has the missiles to sink any ship and George Bush is hoping that they will use them. Once they do... It is war and George Bush does not need to ask permission to anyone to invade Iran. It is a very smart tactic. The USS Stennis is probably on high alert for it and will survive the attack. Iran won't.
There is no reason to believe that the leader of Iran is not just as crazy as Saddam Hussein. So the possibility that they will attack the USS Stennis as soon as George Bush says "Booo" to Iran... is very probable.

There isn't a reason to believe? Are you familiar with Iran's leadership?

That all counts on the idea that the US wants to star war with Iran, which we could do for any reason now that preemption is status quo... I don't think that's how it is.

Aussie has this one right. The Stennis is there to do just that -- draw fire from any source. Then, whoever shot the missile gets obliterated. Makes sense to me.

Oh my goodness that is really dreadful how Fox News has released the news where the aircraft carrier USS Stennis is parked and of course Iran can send a missile and sink the ship. I do not know what is wrong with these people when there is so much at stake.

Do you remember when Geraldo Rivera was on FOX News in Iraq and was drawing in the sand the plans the command he was riding with, had? And then the military got so mad and FOX News publicly apologized. The whole operation had to be rerouted. Why don't these news guys understand sometimes less is more. We in America do not have to have the actuals plan of military missions!

Come off it man it's an aircraft carrier you are talking about. Who ever wants to know doesn't need Fox News to help them. An aurcraft carrier is not exactly a microchip you carry in your pocket. We live in an open society and there is a price that comes with the freedom.

Yes, an aircraft carrier is not a microship, it is a floating island and easy terrorist target.
