The Poison of Mormonism...

My family taught me to be Mormon when I was younger. I remember I was kind of confused when a girl from the Assemblies of God accused me of not being a Christian. I beat her up, for that one! I remember going home and asking Mom, "we are christian, right mom?" and, she said "yes".
Well, I was baptized, and even did a special baptism for the dead, when I was Mormon, but increasingly, I was not happy with my decision.
at 14, I was placed in foster care, because my parents couldn't manage 6 children.
there, I had Born Again Christian parents, from the Assemblies of God. It took me 6 months to decide upon becoming Christian for myself.
but, I didn't stop there. after the death of my birth mother when I was 17, I stopped practicing religion, and started listening to GOD.
and, let me tell you! GOD is not religious at all, but spiritual!
there are so many things we do not understand in this world, that religion in general blocks us from.
for instance, anything we do not understand is of the devil?
now, doesn't it claim in revelations that the mark of the beast is a man, and his number is 666? gee wiz.that must be all of us!
we are the beast?
back to Mormonism. if you know anything about programming, this is how it works in the Mormon church.
"I'd like to bear my testimony, Joseph Smith is the true Prophet of GOD. I know THE CHURCH is true" (referring to Mormonism)
when I look back at this, I am thoroughly appalled. And, I feel bad for my brothers and sister, because indeed, they are still Mormon.
according to the Mormon church, I will be cast out in darkness for denying their truth. And, although there is alot more to my spirituality than this, I thought it would be a good topic.
Do you think I will be thrown out into outer darkness because I deny a religion to be the only truth out there?

Well, I don't believe Mormonism, or any religion, is poison. I do believe that it is possible for their to be bad people or bad ideas in any religion, but I don't think that invalidates the entire religion. Just because you had a bad experience with Mormonism doesn't mean that other people aren't perfectly happy and spiritually fulfilled by it.
That said, I don't believe anyone will be "thrown into the outer darkness", whatever their beliefs.

*laughs* I wasn't saying that you didn't know the religion, or that you didn't have a right to have an opinion on it. I just believe that for every spiritual path there is at least some person somewhere for whom that is the right path. Forgive me for being so darn uber-tolerant.
My husband was Mormon when we met, though he isn't now. I'll admit that I wasn't that impressed by it myself, when I went to church with him, I felt like a second-class citizen because I was female. But I don't want to be judgemental off my own experience, because I'm sure there are many Mormons that are happy in their religion.

Well, there are soooo many women who are not happy with Mormonism. so, I apologize for flying off the handle there.
I guess the reason why I am talking about it here, is because my ENTIRE family is Mormon, and unless you are one of "them" they have basically already cast you into outer darkness. If you even speak a word about it, you are chastised, because, as every Mormon knows, "The Mormon Church is the ONLY true church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints".

hey!..i'm a mormon too, well, i dont see any problem with living my religion..i dont feel i am program by sharing my testimonies to anyone, unless you dont have one and you try to disguise you own a testimonies thats sounds programming oneself to me he he he..i even read anti mormon books to test whether im alright or brainwashed, but when i read those i dont see any point except misunderstanding, misrepresentation, misquotation of others toward LDS church..hmnnn,..i think every LDS member should have a basic doctrinal foundation of their faith..Dont brainwashed oneself hehe hehe..try to ask me some, I hope i can answer some to clear doubts..thank you!

I was married to a Mormon after being raised Catholic. I was shocked when I kept hearing them say over and over again, "I'd like to bear my testimony, Joseph Smith is the true prophet of G-d. I know the church is true..." To me, it sounded like brainwashing because the people say it before, during and after their tear jerker of a testimony.
Also, when was at the Salt Lake Temple, I asked some females there, "If Mormons are based from the Aaronic Priesthood, why do you still eat pork? Aaron was the brother of Moses...who wrote the Torah. Are you telling me that there is a rift and division between Aaron and Moses? And don't give me any New Testament or Mormon book..." They couldn't give me a straight answer.
I left my husband right after I took a class with him...Temple prep. Oohhhh...it sounded too hoaxy and secretive regaruding that ONLY the Mormons whom have come and dealt with this or that in their lives...plus you had to be a full fledged member. I didn't like it at all.
