What books have you found to be indispensible in finishing or getting you novel published. Here are a few of my favorites:
The First Five Pages By Noah Lukeman - Noah is a literary agent who gives tips on how to get your manuscript noticed. He includes activities with each chapter to help you get prepared. It is an awesome book.
2007 Guide to Literary Agents By Writers Digest Books - This is not only helpful for finding agents (including an easy to use genre reference) but it also has guidelines for everything from how to prepare your manuscript, how to write your query letter, how to write your synopsis, and much more.

I have not had an ybig publishings yet. In college, one of my papers was selected as a part of the WCU Undergraduate Research program and was published. I was the only freshman selected. I have had a poem published in an online magazine as well. I am really just now getting to the point where I am actively trying to get published. I have become a cash earner on Gather for the things I publish there, but I am looking for more than that. I have written a novel and am editing it now. I am researching about how to get published and am learning so much that I hope will help me get published.
I think I have the talent to be a published writer and am also going to go back to college to finish a bachelors in English and marketing. I think that will help me greatly in a writing career. I enjoy helping others and unlike some people, would be excited to see someone else get published with my help, even if I do not have the same results.
