RAM(Random Access Memory) RAM is a storage device chip which is used by the computer to read or write program or data fortemporary use. Information will remain in this memory as long as power is present. ROM(Read Only Memory) ROM is a solid-state storage chip that is programmed at the time of its manufacturing and may not be reprogrammed by the user.

RAM stands for Random Access Memory..RAM is an in built memory which inside the cpu of the computer.it allows us to save, delete, make change in it..if we save a file or document in our save computer..it'll be saved on some location..but internally it saves in the RAM..this is the part of RAM.. ROM stands for Read Only Memory..we can just read by this memory and we cannot save changes or delete it..Secondary storage devices are using Read only memory..Compact Disc,Floppies are using Rom..

these are two basic kinds of memory used in microprocessors i.e RAM (Random access memory)and ROM (Read only memory). ROM stores programs which need not to be changed ( ie. holds instructions for starting up the computer and the procedures required to access permanently connected peripherals like keyboard, disk drive, display etc), whereas RAM is the main memory, is used for storing most programs and data in computer.

hmmm RAM is random access memory which is simply called memory.. and ROM is read only memory.....which only allows to read... the basic difference between RAM and ROM is that the content of of RAM gets erased when power is off...but the contents in ROM are permanent.....generally BIOS and boot up related stuff are kept in ROM and temporary rhings will be put in RAM
