Is it advisable to monitor or count your posts? or is it just futile?

I am disheartened- i monitor and count my every post- the discussions that i open and responses that i make but no matter all the effort i put into counting it- the number always changes! like last night, before i went to bed i counted 271 posts- then this morning when i logged in and responded to a discussion, the number i had was 270! i admit im here mostly for the money but i make an effort to earn...as much as i can i try to make quality responses. Itslike i lost 2 posts- which was dissapointing indeed because i spent time in making those posts. It seems that counting or monitoring your posts is just futile and disheartening since your posts is decreased without your knowledge. But i want to monitor my post because i have a goal to meet but it just seems useless- and it just discourages me to go on further. So what do you people think?

I monitor my points every day. The cutoff time for postings being counted by myLot to be included in your next days earning is midnight central time. So if you post after that time it will not be included in your earnings until the following day. I jot down my number of points at the end of the day and then see if they have dropped overnight. That is just one of the minuses about myLot is that your points can go up or down for breaking myLot rules, a discussion you have responded to has been deleted etc. etc. but it is still a lot of fun and the money is jut an added bonus. You will never get rich here. LOL
BTW the person who posted above me has broken one of the rules. He/She has posted a link to another paying site. They can only do that if you had ASKED for a link so she will most likely lose that point and not know why. Hope this helps.

if you keep counting posts then it will seem a long way up. just relax and enjoy posting discussions on mylot. Forget about you are making some mone. if you do so i think posting will be much more fun for you and money will come automatically. just dont see the numbers of posts you have made. i am also trying to get rid of the same problem and following what i said. ask your friends to join mylot that way you could discuss more on mylot without even noticing the number of posts you have made.

yeah i count my post, i have noticed a few times it has counted, but then some people say error in mylot then some say because if mylot feels your response wasnt very good, so im not 100 % sure what the go is sorry. but i guess when you take the time to answer, it really upsets when its not counted.

I've never had a problem with my post numbers going up or down, although I do jot down the numbers on a night, because I like to try and keep track of how many responses I've made in a day. I always forget to check the next day whether the number has gone down or not though lol.
I try not to bother too much though. To me it doesn't really matter so much - I don't really post discussions so the thought of them getting deleted really isn't an issue, and I try to post responses to the top discussions of the day mostly, because I know I have less chance of them being deleted.

I tried to monitor my posts in the begining but I would always end up off. My problem was that I had more than I counted. I probably just got into posting and forgot to mark it down. Now I just love posting and the money is a bounus so I don't keep track.

I felt that way too and I was around 2000 points just when they started to do that thing where they were deleting discussions that were stupid or repeats and I lot a lot of points. Pretty much as much as you have now. But at least we didn't lose any money from what we did do. Now at least there aren't as many of these discussions left that we are responding to that will be deleted.

Even i faced the same problem earlier it was because i wasnt posting quality responses. I was just trying to increse my number of responses and by doing that i wasnt even earning anything. Do not be discouraged by this hust keep on your good work. I am very happy with what mylot is paying me now. Just make sure u respond to good discussion and always keep your your responses qualitative! Mylot monitors your responses and pays it accordingly.

Oh my gawd. Please go to my page & look for the discussion I have about impulsive/compulsive beahavior/traits. Respond to that. This is right along those lines. One reason the number may vary is the speed as to which myLot updates also. Also I think the more users online the longer it takes to have these numbers updated. That's just what I think anyhow.
Happy postings from Grandpa Bob

Don't be disheartened, catcai. This normally happened to just about everyone. I also lost a few cents during my first week here. But it didn't bother me at all. I never counted how many responses I gave. I just move on and on searching for topics that will caught my eyes. You should not pressured yourself too much also. Try to relax and enjoy posting.

I'm fairly new here, but at first blush, I don't feel that mylot is intentionally scamming people. Let's face it, they would not last long as the market is very competitive out there and people will just go elsewhere.
I would suggest not taking all that time to keep track. I'm very sure there must be a very good reason why you lost a few points. Other posters have mentioned some here.
I would just go on responding and starting discussions and I'm sure you will do fine. I just started late yesterday and see that I have been credited with .60. I'm quite happy with that as I didn't do too much yet. It shows that the system does work. Besides, even at .60 a day, that would be $18 a month of extra money. And I'm sure once I get going, I'll do better than that. It's o.k. for extra money.
