We have had alot of loved ones loose the battle with cancer. It is a terrible disease. Today there are many medicaions that can help ease the pain and even put cancer in remission but the mental stress is hard and often we all try to hide that part of the disease. I found this wonderful magazine that has helped us so vey much with dealing with cancer. It is free and packed full of articles from Doctors, Oncologists, National Cancer Society and Nurse. If you know someone with cancer, I stronly urge you to get this magazine. The name of it is CURE and this is the link to sign up for it. http://www.curetoday.com/freesubscriptions/index.html They also offer a enewsletter and it too is worth signing up for. I did alot of research and posted numerous resources for help with cancer. I posted this article on gather.com. This is the link to that article. http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp?articleId=281474976871384 It has all the resources that I could find on it. I hope that this information will help you to understand cancer and the kinds of stress that it can put on the victim, their families and the others who care about them.

Thanks for this info. I signed up to get the magazine. I wish I would have known about it sooner. My boyfriends dad has recently diagnosed pancreatic cancer. We should find out on Wednesday if it has spread to his liver. If it has, there is nothing they can do and they are only giving him a few months. I have bookmarked your gather article and I will check it out more later when it is quiet in here and I can read without getting disturbed. Thanks again.

We actually lost my Grandfather to cancer and that will be 4 years ago in October now and it was sad as my Grandfather always hid everything and we only found out a few years before. My Great Grandmother just passed also like 4 years before him at the age of 98 and my Grandfather was 74. It is still hard and i will always remember him so clearly and pray for him as i love him so much and you are right that cancer is hard for soo many of us and this is great that you have in fact put together soo much information for all of us!!! God Bless!!

Yes I have lost some loved ones to cancer,my mother had stomach cancer and had a lot of pain towards the end just gave her medicines to keep ker comfortable, Also one of my sisters had cancer in her neck and back of her head, she went through chemo and said she wouldn't go through that again,as she was so ill also from the meds. 2 of my husbands brothers had lung cancer so we have gone through a lot of sadness in our time. the worst thing is the defeated feeling you get when you know there is absolutely nothing you can do.

I had my kid brother who lost his life in this tragic disease. He's just 28 years old. I wasn't really there to see his ordeal, the way he loses his health and I didn't saw him passed away. My last glimpse of him was inside his coffin. Anyway, I wish it will never struck our family again. It brings tremendous grief on all of us. Thank you for the articles, I'll check it sometime.

In my family, we have had so many people diagnosed with the illness, and some have passed away after years of fighting it. It is such a difficult disease, and so terrible on everyone involved. I am glad that you have found a way to deal with it, in my family, all I can do, is stay positive and optimistic. I try to keep those diagnosed with the any kind of cancer, from feeling that their lives are over, they should realize that they are still the same, still alive, and just have an illness that they have to overcome. Hope that all is well in your family, take care.

Thanks for the information about these sites. I lost my grandmother to cancer a year ago and also lost a dear friend and a grandfather to this horrible disease. When it comes to people dealing with this any form of help is useful. It's one of the reasons I like this site, it seems like everyday someone gives me something useful that I take away with me.

I know of a couple of relatives of mine who suffer from Blood Cancer. In India apart from the pain there is also a social stigma that is attached to the same which makes it all the more painful. But believe me these days Cancer cure is much more possible compared to the last decade. With both Siemens and GE going headlong in its quest for computer aided diagnostics the cure is becoming more and more possible. Check out the latest CT devices at your nearest hospital and see if Cancer detection is available. If you do have a family history than I would suggest a precautionary scan once every 2-3 years depending on the age group. Cheers! Ram

Unfortunately yes. Both of my in-laws were diagnosed with cancer within the last year. My mother-in-law has Stage IV lung cancer, and my father-in-law has stage IV colon cancer.
