Gambling perils

Last night my hubby dropped me off at the Casino in Townsville at 6pm. I played the one 1 cent machine till 1.30am. I was determined to see if I got the top payout. In all that time I got one payout of $100.00. I put that back into the machine as well as my $200.00 starting money. I went home empty pursed.
I watched other gamblers doing hundreds and hundreds of dollars and wonder what happens to the children of these people.
My grandson has become addicted and I played the machine last night to see what kind of pull they had.
In relaying what happened to him today he just said that was bad luck.
Is that the reply of all gamblers?

In long term, one can never win at the pokies. Althogh i had seen people winning the jackpot of 50000 at the pokies, i still believe i am not that lucky , i better buy a $2 lottery ticket . In fact i had seen more people get addicted to the pokies, they spend the whole day at the pokies, first they lost money and then try to catch up, if not successful, they will try to do it until they can get their money back, bu when they get thier omney back, they think they are lucky enough to win more .....

Hello easy888, thank you for responding to my discussion. I personally believe that they are an evil imposed on society by greedy politicians and big business. They are very harmful to family life and are responsible for breaking up many marriages. It is a sad state of affairs when Governments allow any type of business so long as they can have their hand in the pot to fill the government coffers.
