do you think "the departed" deserves the oscar?

the departed, get many of the oscars this year. However, we realize that it was just an adaptation movie from the hongkong film "infernal affairs" . Do you think lacking of original idea, still make it deserves an oscar ? I really don't agree with this award. I think there are some others better than this with very authentic original idea.

Infernal Affairs was much better than Departed. What IA had was a soul which was much much missing in Departed. Departed was a usual hollywood fanfare with caricature bad guys and not so good guys. It is true that good stories are slowly beginning to wane from Hollywood and it is beginning to outsource them [:)]

maybe!...i cant judge yet because i havent seen the movie "the departed"!...logically, oscar judges wont choose the movie "the departed" if it is not good!...
