Have you attended a convention? Would you?

I never have and would love to. I'd dress up and the whole nine yards. They used to be held annually where I used to live and I have always regretted not going.

Yes. I have attended a convention and we have to dress very business like and important. It's a lot of hard work if you are representing your company as you need to get all the information right to present to the audience and get whatever important information across to your company. It's not really something that I look foward too 'cos at the end of the day, it's still work.... However, you'll get to meet a lot of people and mingle and network.

I have gone to a convention and I didn't dress up, I didn't feel the need, I did want to go for the experience, I was fortunate as the speakers were James Doohan, and Nichelle Nichol. The bulk of any convention is of course the vendors but for those interested in memorabilia it is a great place to be. I also saw some favorites from another series I love which was Babylon 5. it is interesting to see the actors/ actresses in such a setting, because while I know they are not themselves they are in fact on stage, being live in front of you does show a bit more than you might think, and I enjoyed it I was fortunate enough to have gone with a group of friends so we made it a nice weekend event. I would recommend that if you are a fan you should try to go at least once in your life.

I went to a convention in Trenton,N.J. with Marinia Sirtis from Star Trek:The Next Generation .I tried to go to one in Atlantic city with Walter Koneig but they failed to mention in the flyer I had gotten that you had to pre-register.I had taken a casino bus and when I got there ,I couldn't get in because I hadn't pre-registered. turns out I wasn't the only ones. There were alot of people that were turned away.I did go to another convention in atlantic city with micheal dorn and James Doohan.I was so excited

I have. I would dress either as Tom Baker's Doctor or just wander around in a long black cape (tho I could do it in a long purple cape too.) I'm debating going to Houston for a con this month - if I do it'll only be for 1 day. What has slowed me down is depression and finances - retirement is kind of hard on the pocket book.

I am going with my husband to one here in Adelaide in about 3-4 weeks. Yes, we are dressing up so if anyone can help with how-to's on making a bajorin nose piece that would be great!

I am going to my first convention in just over a months time. Dragon con in atlanta city. As to costuming thats a definent. I joined a costuming group earlier this year and our speciality is the Umbrella corporation from resident evil. I will be wearing a Umrella corp exec costume. We are also going to be doing a Frank Millers 300 group this year and I have nearly finished my Persian Grenadier costume. Going to be a blast. Anyone else going to Dragon Con?
