I've read that ,too. I can't offer an opinion, because I haven't seen it firsthand, But, it seems that the healthier way of living they offer, would certainlty give you a better quality of life. Some people are able to get away from diabetes medications with a change in lifestyle. I've seen that happen. But as soon as they stop following their regimens, they relapse and show high blood sugar levels again. That's not being cured, that's just doing what's good for you!

You are so right, I have changed the way I eat and therefore have almost eliminated the need for medication. But I am NOT cured of this disease, I am just controlling the high glucose levels by eliminating the foods that trigger them.
Once your pancreas starts to break down to the point that it does not make enough insulin to control the sugar in the blood there is no way to repair it.
And in type 2 it is the cells that do not use the insulin that the pancreas
makes so we have to make sure that we don't eat foods that will trigger high blood sugar levels. Either one requires a strict diet and exercise.
