Legally (FINANCIALLY) Responsible for Adult Child's Driving Accident

Recently a neighbor was side swiped on the highway and she was forced off the road rolling her car over 3 times. The person who hit her was a 22 year old young man - driving his grandmother's car (she was in the car with him). He lives at home with his parents. The neighbor was told by her lawyer that she can sue for the assets of the young man, his grandmother (it was her vehicle) AND his parents (he lives at home and they are legally responsible for him until he is 25). I AM DUMBFOUNDED! I cannot beleive this many people can be sued in this accident! I had no idea that even when my children were over 21 I would still be responsible if they got into an accident!I also have to say that I am going to be extremely disappointed in this person if they sue all of these people. Unfortunately in this day and age, I am sure that many people would be thrilled to have hit the trifecta in situation. Am I the only one who did not realize that we are legally responsible for our children over 21??? Kelly
