The stock market crash started with China stock market 9% tumble on 27/2/07. The China crash was triggered by the Chinese's government curbing of share A trading speculation. The China's market correction might have caused Dow's 400 points plunge on the same day. But it's also due to former Fed Chief Mr Alan Greenspan's comments that America might be going into recession. Hi Edmund : I guess I was blessed. 2 weeks before the US and China Stock Market correction, I had not been doing too well with my options trading thus I paper traded on the week the minor stock market crash occurred. I guessed those who held stocks of China registered companies here got hit the most. Yours Truly, Tony Chai http://options4u.blogspot.com

Hi Edmund, This is just a psychological factor that may have affected the investors. Alan Greenspan said that US's economy might go into the recession -- one day before the US's stock market crash. As a result, the investors were panic. In addition, the situation has become worst because of China's economy which is currently not in a good shape compared to its past performance. Since China's market has a great influence toward US's economy, the investors have become more panic. If you read Alan Greenspan's theory about Irrational Exuberance, you'll understand it.
