Is mobile phone distracting youth from studies??

I too do think so! Initially these phones were just a matter of emergency companions to the kids. But with the changing times and with the advancements in the phones youth are using these phones for many other purposes other than simply talking. They are using these phones to send SMS, MMS, they are using these phomes to take snaps, Videa clips, using them as dictaphones, by doing all these things they are not only wasting time which they could have used in a better way but they are also wasting their talents and productivity and mental efficiency! Today's youth has got addicted to the mobile phones and they can'ty live without one! I have seen young people changing as many as 8 to 10, models within a span of two years and they are crazy and want to update their phone the moment they see some new feature is added to the new model.This not only putting tax n their pockes but this makes them to become desperate to have more money ti have these new sets and in an attempt to earn money many ayouth are adapting some wrong practices, in a want of becoming rich over night! Undoubtedly mobile phones are distracting the modrn youth!

i believe it could, that is why i strongly feel kids should not be permitted to have mobile phones till they're old enough. we didn't have mobile phones in our days, and it didn't kills us. i mean, there's no reason why the youth of today couldn't live without it, right?

i think it does, since they are very much attracted to gadgets, they will surely be paying much more attention to it than their studies. unless you make them use it only during weekends or if you set limits only.

Yeah, I do think that mobile phones are distracting the youth from their studies. When they should be concentrating on their schoolwork, they are either busy sending text messages to friends or just talking in the phone. They think they are multi-tasking but it simply reverts them from what they should be doing in the first place. Study. They won't be able to absorb much information if they keep doing two things at one time. It is much better to fully concentrate on one thing. As for studying, it's always best to just concentrate on it.

its really!!i even think so...its easy for youth generation to get in touch with their friends...and here they are loosig their concentration....i am agree with you....

maybe a little, but not all youth are distracted from studies because of mobile phones. as a matter of fact here in our country having cellphone is a necessity for almost all students. it's easier to contact a friend or a classmate if you missed your class or if you need help from your assignments and lessons. it is also of great help if you need to speak right away to your groupmates for school papers and projects or to inform them on meetings and stuff like that. parents also will be able to reach their children anytime if they have cellphones... just my thoughts. :)

yes we can say this since mosst of the time we c that mobile phones causes some problem for the youth these problem may be talking to there gf/bf or may cause some other problems.....

Yes mobiles are too distracting. They never allow youth to concentrate on the job at hand. Many end up frittering away their energy doing inane things. Of course it is a great way to keep in touch with others.

No, it doesn't =) I try not to be distracted by it. It's just a means of communication. I just text or call if needed, but is not really a distraction to me.

No, but the computer is. Ever since mylot, i can't concentrate on my studies. i have just been posting hundreds of posts each day.

No mobile phones are not distracting youth from studie.Am a college student and have a mobile too,but it does not distract me---provided it is not mis-used.Mobiles are an essential of todays world.
