Family Traditions that aren't really noticed

I got thinking about this today. My mom lives 45 minutes away from us. She and I were talking about going out to dinner with the family tonight. I was debating making something at my house for every one when my husband commented, "We can't cook at home - we always go out for Mexican or Pizza with your mom." I had never thought about that, but it's true. It's a tiny family tradition that I hadn't thought about before. Do you have any of those? Little things that you always do with family that you've never really thought that much about? To end the story, we're hitting La Pachanga tonight - a local Mexican eatery!

we breathe tradition in our family... even the whole clan. every year we go get together with the whole clan. from the elders to the new generations. and the program always consist of introduction. like when i was 7 years old, i had to go infront of the whole clan and tell them who i was. "my name is.. i'm the son of.. my parents are.. my grandparents are.." things like that. we have a huge clan. actually i find it amazing now that i'm a grown up how we kept our family ties in tact. even the in-laws would have to introduce theirselves in front of the mocking crowd. LOL. yes they must do it with courage. that's a tradition i surely won't forget. it's not just about the food each family bring and share with the whole group, not about the festive mood, but all about knowing who your family is and by knowing these things -- you instantly feel good that there are so many people who loves u and is sure to guide u in your life.

Weve got this tradition at christmas which I really love. In the morning its always breakfast at home, then afternoon lunch is with the whole family, uncles, aunties, cousins, grandparents, everyone. In the evening everyone goes their seperate ways, just go out with our immediate family or something like that. I absolutely love it.
